Smart Home Integration in Pound Ridge
Pound Ridge is woods, stone walls and houses you cannot see from the road. It is also where we built Carbon Home Zero.
The town keeps its rural character on purpose. Lots are large, roads are narrow and wooded, and many houses sit deep in the trees, from mid-century modern houses set into the slope to new construction planned around the land.
That privacy has a cost in infrastructure. Cell coverage can be patchy, utility lines run through a great many trees, and the nearest neighbor is well out of Wi-Fi range. We design for it: a wired network with Wi-Fi calling for the gaps, backup power that keeps the house connected through a storm, and lighting and control that run locally, so the house still responds when the internet does not.
From Scotts Corners to the roads toward Bedford and New Canaan, the brief is the same: technology that lives quietly in a house chosen for its quiet.
In Pound Ridge
Carbon Home Zero
Built with Carbon Custom Builders: whole-home audio in every room and out to the grounds, video over the network to every screen, a media space, and one Savant interface for all of it.
Architecture
Mid-century in the trees
Glass-walled mid-century houses, shingled farmhouses and new modern builds, most set well back on wooded land. The mid-century houses leave nowhere to hide a wire, so we place every keypad and speaker with the restraint their architects used.
Lifestyle
Privacy, by design
People come here to be out of sight. The house still has to give them everything the city would, a strong network, a room for film, music on the terrace, while staying as quiet as the land around it.
What Pound Ridge asks for
Networking & Wi-Fi
A wired backbone with access points through the house and out to the outbuildings, plus Wi-Fi calling where a cell signal never reaches.
Explore →Power & Energy
Generator and battery systems, so a storm on a wooded road does not take the house offline.
Explore →Whole Home Audio
Music in every room and out to the grounds, as at Carbon Home Zero, on one Savant interface.
Explore →Landscape Lighting
Low, warm light for stone walls and specimen trees, kept gentle so the woods still feel like woods.

Questions
Pound Ridge, answered.
- Do you work in Pound Ridge?
- Yes. We design and install smart home, networking, audio, lighting and home theater systems across Pound Ridge from our office in Armonk. Carbon Home Zero, our project with Carbon Custom Builders, is here.
- Our cell signal is weak. Can you help?
- Yes. We build a strong wired network with access points through the house, so phones can use Wi-Fi calling everywhere the network reaches. Where a property needs more, we advise on carrier-approved signal boosters.
- Will the system still work if the internet goes down?
- The core of it, yes. Lighting, shading, climate and audio from local sources run on equipment in the house, so keypads and scenes keep working. Remote access and streaming return when the connection does.
- Can you wire a mid-century house without spoiling it?
- Yes. We plan every device placement before work starts, use existing paths and wireless control where walls cannot be opened, and choose keypads and speakers that suit the architecture.
- Do you also work in Lewisboro and New Canaan?
- Yes, across northern Westchester and over the state line into New Canaan and the rest of Fairfield County.
