- What does a smart home system cost in Westchester?
- It depends on the house. The main factors are the size of the home, how many rooms are included, which systems you want, and whether it is new construction or a retrofit. A single media room or lighting upgrade is a very different project from a whole-home system on a larger estate. We walk the property or review the plans first, then give a detailed proposal.
- Can you add technology to an older home without opening the walls?
- Usually, yes. Many Westchester homes have plaster walls, no wiring chases and decades of additions. We plan retrofits the way a careful contractor plans a renovation, routing cable through existing paths and using wireless lighting and shading where it makes sense, so mouldings and millwork stay intact.
- When should we bring in an integrator on a new build or renovation?
- At the design stage, while the architect is still drawing. Wiring, equipment space, speaker and shade locations are far easier to plan before framing and drywall. We work directly with your architect, builder and interior designer from the first drawings.
- What systems do you install?
- Home theaters, lighting control, whole-home audio, hi-fi listening rooms, motorized shading, networking and Wi-Fi, outdoor audio, landscape lighting, whole-home control, power and energy systems, air quality and golf simulators.
- Which control platform do you use?
- Savant is our primary platform for whole-home control, and we hold a seat on Savant's Advisory Council. For lighting and shading we also design with Lutron, where we are a Platinum dealer.
- Do you service the system after installation?
- Yes. Our care plans include remote monitoring, maintenance and support from our Armonk team, so the system keeps performing the way it did on the first day.
